[5.10] Traffic Calming Measures around Schools

Going to School in safety
[Domain: Road Safety]

Traffic calming measures around Schools included elevated zebra crossings and platforms, zebra crossings with central pavement, extra traffic signs including signs fed by solar photovoltaic energy, widening of pavements, speed bumps to slow down traffic and road anti sliding pavement. Also, safety railings and other measures to prevent illegal parking were carried out.

These measures increased road safety around schools, having been the result of planned interventions in particularly relevant places, which were identified as a consequence of the questionnaires undertaken during the process of gathering information for each School Mobility Plan.
