June 2007
In the framework of the project Almada hosted the visit of foreign delegations from Treviso, Italy and Serres, Greece, both project partners.
These two delegations integrated mobility officers, Heads of Departments and representatives of different organizations related to mobility management.
During this technical visit were presented some structural projects current underway in Almada, such as Almada’s Cycle Plan, Mobility Plan Accessibilities 21, South Tagus Light Tram, as well as awareness raising campaigns for sustainable mobility, namely initiatives such as the “European Mobility Week” and “Car Free Day”.
School travel plans and Eco-drive training are some of the projects led by the Local Energy Management Agency of Almada that these delegations were interested in. These delegations also attended the Children Forum 21, and listened to what children had to say, namely where mobility is concerned.
Elected politicians from the three Local Authorities also met, allowing for a dialogue on similar challenges in the field of urban mobility, reinforcing the pillars for future partnerships.
